About the workplace

The Property Management Department, with approximately 70 employees, is responsible for the city's owned properties and condominiums. We manage the city's properties, run construction projects, and support other departments in local supply issues. Our properties include everything from schools and nursing homes to cultural buildings such as the City Hall, Kärnan, and Sofiero. The Administration Department is one of four departments and is responsible for finance, office services, procurement, security coordination, IT support, and business development. The department consists of ten dedicated employees who are now looking for a new colleague.

Job Responsibilities

As a communicator with us, you will have a varied and developing assignment. You will be the sole communicator in the department and will work with communication from idea to delivery in both large and small projects. You will collaborate with colleagues on larger projects and take responsibility for smaller projects. You will also be part of the city's network for communicators, where you will receive guidance and the opportunity to share experiences.

Your main focus will be to plan, produce, publish, and follow up on communication. Sometimes you will need to analyze needs, develop communication strategies and plans, and then integrate all parts, including producing material and delivering it for print and/or web/intranet/social media. When needed, there is also the opportunity to utilize the city's contracted communication services.

An important part of the assignment is to coach and advise colleagues and managers on communication issues. You will often be the one who translates strategic decisions into practical communication, ensuring that the communication is coherent in both tone and content. Together, we create communication that touches, explains, and guides. We always keep the residents of Helsingborg in focus.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in media and communication science or equivalent
• several years of experience in various areas of communication
• experience in managing communication projects through all phases
• experience in coaching and advising on communication issues
• experience in creating target group-adapted marketing and advertisements as well as text, photo, and video for various channels
• experience in crisis communication
• knowledge of web publishing tools (preferably WordPress) and good knowledge of issues related to accessibility, copyright, and GDPR

It is an advantage if you have experience in communication work within municipal organizations.
